After both Adam and Eve rebelled against God in the Garden of Eden [refer to "Original-Sin"] we learn that God provides several changes in their lives. One of those changes is found in Genesis 3:15 "And I will put enmity [or hostility] between you and the woman, and between your offspring and hers; he [Jesus] will crush your head, and you will strike his heel." (from New International Version) where we learn of the fate of Eve's offspring. In Psalm 51:5 "Surely I was sinful at birth, sinful from the time my mother conceived me." (from New International Version) David also shares with us when this sinfulness begins in our lives.

Because of Adam and Eve, we are all born with a natural inclination to sin against God called the "sin nature". We also know that there is an age or point of mental capability before one is held accountable for the sin [refer to "Sin"].
