The origins of life has amazed people for years. Or more correctly, how it is that we and everything around us exists. Over the years the answers have been many, with the most prevalent being some variation of evolution', creation' or some sort of combination of the two. In this topic we are biased toward creation' from a superior being which we refer to as God [refer to "God"]. The reason we believe in creation is twofold. First and foremost, the evidence of a creator is obvious in everything that He has created. In other words we see parts of God is everything that He has created. Secondly it says so in God's Word [refer to "Holy Bible"]. Note, though, that to be a true Christian does not require, in any way, belief in creation, even though God's Word is predicated on God being the creator.
When viewing or researching God's creation one must remember that there are three major aspects to His creation. First, that God is so powerful beyond our wildest imagination that in the book of Genesis He spoke everything into existence. Nobody knows exactly what is meant by "God said", but the implication is that there was not much manual labor involved. Granted, God did rest on the 7th day which implies some sort of exhaustion. The second aspect is that God creates items out of context. Take for example the light from the heavens. It is the light that He created before providing objects that provides the light. Adam and Eve were not created as babies, but as fully functioning walking and talking people. Finally, people need to keep in mind that God created this world so that it would be easy for the average person to not believe in the one true God. God does not want everyone, but rather only those that want to be loyal to Him.
In Genesis chapters 1 through 3 Moses gives us a lot of information that is hard to comprehend as a mere human. Such as God speaking the universe into existence, Eve being created from Adam's rib, God socializing with Adam and Eve and finally the serpent.
First, let's start with the author Moses. Prior to the birth of Moses, this historical account of creation had been passed from generation to generation by memory, possibly pictorial pictures, and possibly by some sort of written language. By whatever method it was that Moses received this information, we can have full assurance that it is the fullest account that God wants to reveal to us humans. We know this because it is verified throughout the rest of the God's Word. Plus there are many other stories from other religions that are similar to the Bible account that helps to reinforce its validity. The only difference is that they got it wrong.
Genesis 1:1-2 starts us out with "In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. 2 Now the earth was formless and empty, darkness was over the surface of the deep, and the Spirit of God was hovering over the waters." The first verse is a very controversial verse. Some contend that this is millions and billions of years, while others claim it to only be an introduction and preparatory of what is to follow. Remember that this is all part of the first day. Just because "the first day" is in the second paragraph does not separate it in time from the first day.
Obviously in verses 3 through 31 God demonstrates His immense power by the method that He uses in His creating. All He has to do is speak and it is created. Granted, the existence of God is in a realm far beyond what we can even begin to imagine, so it may have taken more than just spoken words to create, but the emphasis here is that creating was not difficult or time consuming. Although, there must have been some type of exhaustion since God rested on the 7th day.
In verses 3 through 31 God is creating and the following statement is made "And there was evening and there was morning - the ? day" Some contend that this day-by-day account was actually thousands or millions of years in length. Even though the word day' in Hebrew is only referred to as a 24-hour period everywhere else in the Bible as well as non-Biblical historical texts.
This is evolution on a small scale where a species adapts to its environment by changing some of its physical characteristics. One must note that these species revert back to their original characteristics when the environment returns back to normal. Examples include the yellow moth in England that changed to a dark moth during the years when coal was burned for heating, and is now a yellow moth once again. The long beaked finch that is now a short beaked finch. The salamander that adapts to underground living by either being able to see infra-red light or being completely blind, which returns back to normal if he lives on the top surface.
The worldly view of what you see and who you are is derived from evolution. If the evidence does not support the evolutionary theory, then it is not promoted. Plus, they will try to demonstrate evolution in action with species such as the moth (changing colors), the finch (changing beak size), and the salamander (changing numerous physical traits), but will fail to mention that this is only a form a micro-evolution and that it is only temporary. One must remember that the deception that God has provided is His intent. God makes it easier to believe in no god than to believe that one does exist and has created absolutely everything and holds absolutely everything together. As a believer in no god', one can essentially indulge in their selfish desires without having to be concerned whether it would offend a higher power. Plus, you also have the media and public education that promote only those that are aligned with the no god' view (i.e. evolution and the big bang' theory).
As for the evidence that God gives us, the truth is, and all scientists will gladly tell you, they know very little about the origins and the existence of everything that exists today. The evidence is only leaving them to speculate. Take, for example, the fact that the first appearance of all creatures in the fossil record is with 2 eye sockets is magic. Just the ability for a creature to even go from unsighted to sight is magic. When I say magic, I mean that it is scientifically impossible for the transition, whether by accident or mutation. You and I have abilities that, in today's scientific community, are far beyond anyone's ability to even begin to replicate. All of our senses are magical (sight, smell, hearing, touch), the ability of our brain to do numerous things beyond any other creature on this planet is magical (laughter, crying, hatred, love, pity, music, sports, etc.), and finally the fact that, not only is our brain so amazing, but we are only using 20% of it. This is what we call our phy
sical realm of existence. As for our spiritual realm of existence, I don't see how any scientist will ever be able to even touch.
